At the Winland’s Charleston home, we transformed a modest sized bathroom with a shower previously enclosed in solid walls to a cottage-influenced spa-like retreat. The open effect of the all glass shower surround improves the amount of light flooding the bathroom. Fitting an a large oval tub and a glass enclosed shower was accomplished by aligning them next to one another on the long wall of the bath. Rather than a single large mirror, individual framed mirrors were used. They help focus the eye on the granite countertops and sinks. The bead board paneling on the half wall separating the toilet from the bathroom continues the vernacular effect.
